Structure Engineer (infra)

We have an exciting opportunity with a British Engineering firm. As a structural engineer, your role is crucial in ensuring the safety and durability of buildings and other structures. Let’s delve into the specifics:

Responsibilities of a Structural Engineer:

• Design and Analysis: You’ll undertake the analysis, design, and detailing of structural engineering schemes. This involves creating 2D and 3D models using computer-aided design software (such as AutoCAD) and calculating factors that impact structures (e.g., load, weather, and human impact).
• Materials Selection: You’ll choose appropriate materials for construction, considering safety, sustainability, usage, and cost.
• Collaboration: Working closely with architects, surveyors, builders, and other engineers, you’ll help design, test, and maintain structures. This collaboration ensures that the aesthetic concept aligns with safe designs.
• Inspection and Supervision: You’ll inspect existing buildings and structures to assess their structural integrity and fitness for purpose. Additionally, supervising and training less experienced employees will be part of your responsibilities.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Complying with Health & Safety and CDM Regulations is essential to maintain a safe working environment.
• Continuous Improvement: Contributing to improvement activities aligned with the company’s vision is crucial for enhancing business processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: A BE/B. Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable institution is the foundation. An ME/M. Tech in structural engineering would be advantageous.
• Experience: At least 3+ years of experience in designing steel structures is desirable.
• Design Codes: Familiarity with design codes such as Eurocodes, AISC, or other international standards is beneficial.
• Structural Analysis: You should be skilled in structural analysis and have a good understanding of design principles for both closed and open industrial steel structures.
• Data Center Experience: Having experience in structural design for data center projects is a plus.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using structural design software like Tekla Structure Designer, Autodesk ROBOT, ETABS, or STAAD Pro is essential.
• Additional Skills: Basic proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, or BIM 360 would be advantageous.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills are important.
