Responsibilities
• Support projects including participation in all interface meetings
• Provide input to cost and schedule estimates
• Develop project reports, presentation of cognizant information and other related project support identified by project leadership
• Provide technical support for procurement specifications; quality control; non-conformance, re-specification or design; and test applications
• Prepare all project documentation, issue contracts, follow fabrication of equipment, install equipment into facilities
• Ensure completion of all projects on time by complying with project schedules based on project priorities and target dates.
• Diagnosis problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Use Remote I/O systems, Industrial Communication Systems and Protocols to support the project
• Balance cost vs benefit to find the lowest practical installed cost for mechanical and fluid systems
• Calculate HVAC loading / sizing based on ambient conditions and heat loss
• Utilize UPS systems as deployed in a Heavy Industrial Environment
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in any applicable engineering from an accredited engineering program; typically, five (5) years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in Safety, EHS and ergonomic engineering practices
• Experience working in a Heavy Industrial Construction and Plant site
• Fundamentals of Engineering Exam passage preferred
• Multiple years of experience, over multiple projects, reviewing various OEM and Utility drawings to find the optimal balance between low installed cost while maintaining operability and maintainability
• Expert level knowledge in Variable Frequency Drives, Motor Control Centers, 480VAC power distribution equipment and lighting systems. Emphasis on Common DC Bus Systems, Large HP motors (including MV Motors) and Active Front End (AFE) units
• Deep understanding of Remote I/O systems, Industrial Communication Systems and Protocols
