TRS Craft Services are currently looking for an experienced Custodian/Cleaners to support military cleaning operations at Fort Knox Military base, KY.

Responsibilities:

The Custodian / Cleaner is responsible for the care, upkeep, and cleaning of assigned facilities to prepare them for operations.
• Responsible for cleanliness in all areas of responsibility.
• Use cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals, and supplies.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, stairways, and other work areas so that health standards are met. Clean and maintain supplies in restrooms.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, and polish floors. Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Perform special cleaning of induction units, walls, lighting fixtures, and windows, both inside and outside, move furniture and set up meeting rooms.
• Provide linen removal, cleaning, and exchange.
• Remove trash from premises and assist in cleaning emergency spills that are observed or as requested.
• Maintain assigned equipment and supplies for cleanliness and request repairs when needed.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of cleaning supplies and techniques.
• Skilled in cleaning rooms, bathrooms, furniture, equipment, sweep, mop, dust and arrange room to set standard.
• Ability to perform semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of building and related facilities.
• Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to perform some heavy lifting.
• Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
• Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
SAFETY
• Adhere to safety policies, practices, and procedures. Maintains liaison with safety personnel on various safety policies, practices, and procedures to assure information exchange, mutual assistance and an enhanced positive safety culture.
• Actively adheres to and practices safety procedures, utilizing proactive methods.
• Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical and mechanical trades, related safety precautions, and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance, and repair of power generation systems and equipment are required to ensure safety of tasks performed.
