Job Title: Mold Setter
Location: Fountain Inn, SC
Industry: Injection Molding
Pay: $18 / hour
Shift: 3rd Shift: 11 pm – 7:30 am, Monday – Friday

This position is responsible for the complete changeover from one part mold to another. This includes making sure material is changed and all peripheral equipment is set up

Job Description and Responsibilities
• Removes and installs molds in the injection molding machines
• Disconnects and reconnects water, air, hydraulic, and electrical required by set up
• Performs complete and thorough line clearance. Assures all equipment, fixtures, documents, etc. are removed from the previous job and all required are in place for the new job
• Removes all products, packaging, trash, etc. from the production area. Cleans machine, mold, and production area prior to production
• Prepares resin handling system for scheduled production. Drains resin from the previous run, cleans hopper(s), dryer(s), and any other resin handling component, and connects proper resin for a new job
• Assures the installed mold and production area is complete and ready for production.
• Assists process technicians with new job setup. Assures the job is started satisfactorily and turned over to production.
• Other duties as may be required and assigned.


Requirements
• Trained with requirements and claims that customer requires
• Experience with the production of technical plastic parts
• Experience with the fully automated and robot-sized injection molding machines
• Trained for troubleshooting problems with the machines
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• One year in manufacturing environment

Professional Experience / Qualifications

• Good understanding of injection molding processes
• Good understanding of plant and environmental safety
• Good understanding of statistical methods of monitoring processes ad product quality.
• Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic components
• Good understanding of troubleshooting industrial equipment
• Able to work flexible hours
• Technical knowledge of resistance welding, injection molding process, and industrial controls
• Excellent knowledge of safety practices and procedures around manufacturing equipment
• Strong mechanical or electrical skills
• Knowledge of calipers and height gage
• Knowledge of use of hand and power tools
• May have some computer knowledge
• Minimum of two years of experience with specialized injection molding equipment for the production of plastic parts for the automotive business.
