For one of our Constructions within Life Sciences, we are looking for a Construction manager to provide discipline leadership and specialist knowledge in pharmaceutical and biotechnology facility to our client's Life Sciences business and projects in the EAME region.

Based in Hoofddorp, the role may require travel to other locations as required including project sites, other offices and client offices/sites.

There is the potential for this role to develop and extend into one of technical leadership for Life Sciences validation across the EAME region.

Role responsibilities
• Constructability reviews against design drawings.
• The introduction of Company Construction specifications.
• The concept and implementation of the following Project procedures to ensure the smooth transition from Construction to Commissioning -:
• Quality reviews of materials and documentation for the Construction project.
• SI - Site Instruction procedure, where I am the sole owner and signature required.
• Project system walkdown procedures.
• Project Construction dossiers - these were set up to be able to Leverage into Commissioning.
• Lead the weekly Contractor progress and twice weekly design co-ordination meetings.
• Contractor and Design consultants RFI and TQ requests.
• Establish and implement an Engineering change control system ( En's )
• Attend and lead the morning whiteboard Safety and Co-ordination meetings with all the contractors.
• Review and report out on the Project Construction schedule.

Candidate requirement
The successful candidate must have at least 10 - 15 yrs of relevant experience in the following areas:
• Has gained extensive experience of working within an EPCmV contracting organisation as Construction Manager and will have excellent knowledge of major/complex pharmaceutical and biotechnology projects.
• The successful candidate will be experienced in the preparation of estimates and schedules for commissioning and validation, based upon engineering documents.
• Will have ideally gained experience of the full range of Pharm/Bio project phase execution including conceptual design, basic design/FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning and validation.
• Demonstrate business acumen and commercial appreciation will be highly beneficial, particularly an understanding of the implications on project execution of lump sum project execution.
• Develop and maintain good and lasting client relationships based upon trust, even in challenging circumstances
• Provide leadership and mentoring in the development of the Life Sciences business for staff under their control, establishing and implementing individual development plans and conducting one to one feedback sessions.
• Will have sound experience of cGMP and FDA, EMEA, CFDA and ICH and will have excellent knowledge of the application and implementation of all relevant European codes, standards and directives.
• Experience of presenting at industry conferences, publishing papers and having a level of “recognition” within the Life Sciences Clients will be beneficial
• They will have been technical lead for large projects involving multiple process units with a significant degree of complexity
Other Requirements
• Qualifications required: BSc or MSc degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent directly related work experience.
• German & English, both proficient in reading and communication (speaking & writing)
• Willing to travel extensively throughout Europe
