Crane and Rigging/Mobile Equipment specialist (OCN)
Provide management oversight to EC contractors in developing of transportation studies, heavy haul routing, logistics planning for major equipment and modules (for Construction Management projects)
Supervise and coordinate work activities of all heavy lifts, heavy hauls, and all rigging related execution efforts, including assembly/disassembly of cranes.
Develop lift studies, or method statements for all major lifts. Ensure critical lift plans are reviewed and approved in accordance to project rigging practices.
Manage on site crane and lifting equipment utilization, operation, and maintenance. Responsible for lifting equipment selection, procurement, and ensure all lifting equipment meet the required standards, and local rules and regulations.
Play active roles in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety an important part of all rigging works performed.
Monitor the quality of pre-lift meetings and make recommendations/suggestions as needed for safe execution of lifts.
Manage craft rigger's and contractor's rigging activities on site to ensure compliance with project/client quality, safety and security requirements.
Required Training, Experience and Skills
Must complete training as a qualified rigger.
5 to 10 years experience as a Rigging Supervisor working in Mining and Metals plants.
Demonstrate adequate experience and knowledge in safe rigging practices, in testing, and inspection requirements on cranes and rigging equipment.
Be able to produce rigging plot plans, crane elevations, and rigging arrangement details preferably in Autocad (or the ability to work with CAD draftsman to produce drawings).
Understand thoroughly the testing and inspection requirements for cranes and rigging equipment.
