*Job Description
This position supports the construction efforts by providing technical support to craft and supervision as well as helping to satisfy quality requirements on the project. Initiate action when necessary to ensure the project is being built as specified in the scope of work. Provide construction engineering and technical support for one or more construction engineering disciplines within an area on large stand-alone projects. Provide construction engineering and technical support to all construction engineering efforts for a specific discipline on small to medium projects.
• Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings
• Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities
• Coordinate the completion of construction activities in assigned systems and prepares punch lists to ensure the readiness of systems for release for turnover to the client or for start up
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned
*Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years* of work-related experience; a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local regulations
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend, to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Ability to work rotational shifts as needed
• Coordinate the preparation and revision of technical work procedures consistent with project design and construction requirements
• Manage the site progress and technical queries and surveys and provide horizontal and vertical control
• Assist project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings
• Perform surveillance/examinations, if required, to ensure that the Quality objectives are being met for the project
• Perform constructability assignments in the office
• Coordinate system completion and turnover with regard to start up activities for assigned systems
• Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities
• Coordinate the completion of Electrical construction activities in assigned systems and prepares punch lists to ensure the readiness of systems for release for turnover to the client or for start up
• Schedule and coordinate the release of construction design documents in support of the construction schedule
Other Job Requirements
This position is for a person in the Electrical discipline with a solid understanding of the applicable IEC codes and standards for the fabrication and installation of Electrical Equipment including Substations, MV & LV Switchgear and MCC's, MV & LV VFD's and Motors, cabling, cables trenching and trays and Instrumentation and Controls (automation); requires field assignment for extended period of time; work is performed in outside field environment, frequent walki
