We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to work for an Architectural company based in their prestigious London offices. This is a permanent position; the role has a salary of £36-41k + benefits.
In the role you will be responsible for internal/external financial reporting, tax filing/compliance, managing banking relationships and general oversight of the London accounting department. This position will report into the VP of Finance in the US and works directly with all levels of employees, as well as external auditors, bankers, customers and supplier. The Senior Accountant shall demonstrate a thorough understanding of interpreting and communicating financial data and professional knowledge in IFRS and FRS102. Additional key responsibilities are sharing professional knowledge, quality assurance, motivating others and establishing successful internal teams.
Full ownership of year end reporting function for the EMEA region, including the preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS and FRS102
Responsibility for statutory reporting (VAT, annual returns to Companies house, etc.)
Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and share with the Operational Director
Supporting the preparation and review of the annual budget
Accurate cash flow management & weekly cash flow forecasts
Managing external relationships (bankers, auditors, pension, Employee Share Trust, HMRC, etc.)
This position requires an advanced level of initiative and judgment in order to organise and prioritise tasks, workload and projects. Professionalism, courtesy, and tact are required in dealing with clients and colleagues.
Other requirements include:
Part qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
People management, leadership and mentoring skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of FRS102 and IFRS
Must possess the experience, tact, and understanding to work with all levels within London office, US corporate, and other F&A locations and be comfortable with dual reporting to corporate F&A and London Operational Director
Computer skills to produce effective reports, documents and presentations. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
Previous experience within an architecture practice is desirable, but not essential
Minimal travel is required
