HSE Inspector required for an exciting opportunity at an LNG terminal in Pembroke.
The HSE Inspector's role is to ensure that all activities on the Project are undertaken and executed safely and in accordance with all relevant laws, codes, standards and practices. That the Project is delivered safely and all HSE targets are achieved.
You will be required to:-
• Provide professional guidance to the Project on all HSE activities;
• Ensure that the Project HSE Management Plan and all other Project HSE documents are being adhered to at the site.
• Co-ordinate HSE data collection to meet Project reporting requirements;
• Assist in the maintenance of the HSE Management Systems for the Project, driving the project specific safety programme at site to promote safety during construction activities;
• Act as focal point for receiving and disseminating HSE knowledge at the site;
• Assist in the review of contractor procedures for implementing the HSE Plan into their scope of works for engineering, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning;
• Review contractor system of audits to measure the effectiveness of the HSE Management Plan and ensure the requirements are being effectively communicated throughout the Contractor(s) and the Company's organisations;
• Inspect, audit and report on the Project HSE programmes and HSE performance;
• Assist with the Project safety working group which includes a representative from all Contractors to meet at least once a month to discuss safety issues and concerns in an open environment for the continual improvement of safety;
• Carry out regular site safety inspections and walkabouts;
• Attend weekly safety meetings;

The ideal candidate for the HSE Inspector role will have the following qualifications:
• NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety;
• IOSH Qualifications are desirable;
• Behavioural safety training is desirable;
• Formal training and a good working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
• NEBOSH Environmental Certificate would be advantageous.

The HSE Inspector will have at least 4-8 years relevant experience in a HSE Inspector role on medium scale capital works Projects in the Oil and Gas (preferably LNG), Petrochemical or Energy Sector. Additionally the HSE Inspector will have experience in:
• Involvement in HSE teams on comparable Construction Projects ;
• Working knowledge of and experience implementing Project HSE initiatives;
• Drafting all levels of Project HSE documentation;
• Drafting Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), reviewing and commenting on RAMS issued by Contractors and ensuring that Company HSE standards are achieved;
• The ability to develop a good safety culture within a Project with multiple Contractors and a diverse workforce;
• The ability to foster good relationships with all construction workers on site by engaging with them at the worksite and developing a coaching and mentoring environment;
• A good working knowledge of behavioural safety and a proven track record of influencing Contractors to appreciate the importance of behavioural safety and coach all members of the Project team to ensure a one team approach to safety;
• Incident reporting and incident investigation;
• Good analytical skills for assessing hazards, specifically in pressurised equipment in the hydrocarbon industry and lifting operations;
• Demonstrated strong listening and communication skills with high energy and commitment;
• A can do attitude and ability to perform in difficult situations;
• Strong teamwork skills;
• Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation;
• Experience of delivering the requirements of ISO 14001;
