We currently seek a Manufacturing Engineer for a direct hire position within our client's team of experienced professionals. Based in Spartanburg, SC, you will be working for one of the world's leading suppliers of textile and converted products to the Automotive, Healthcare and Industrial Services Industries. The primary role of this position is to provide technical engineering support for implementation of, maintenance of, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
Improves manufacturing processes, perform capability studies, and reduce process variation to improve delivered Quality, reduce costs, and improve safety.
Performs Installation Qualifications for new manufacturing processes. Perform PFMEA's and develop process control plans accordingly to ensure product meets specifications.
Participates in new product/process development by assisting Development Associates and Quality Engineers during the Development Process.
Leads setup reduction activities, employ SMED techniques.
Implements methods towards error prevention (Poke Yoke, Autonomation/Jidoka).
Participates in, or lead Kaizen activities to further implement lean philosophies.
Provides manufacturing process oversight and ongoing capability.
Participates in development and implementation of new manufacturing processes.
Ensures all processes are safe and environmentally sound to protect employees from injury and minimize related fatigue.
Analyzes production processes and implement projects to reduce costs of manufacture.
Assists all functional areas, Production, Quality, Development, Maintenance, etc. as needed with technical expertise.
Provides technical assistance to maintenance on machine troubleshooting and repair. Act as liaison to equipment manufacturers.
Designs tooling and work with Vendors to provide tooling needs to production work centers.
Performs capacity analysis and make recommendations accordingly.
Performs time study and cycle time analysis to aid in creation of labor standards, machine time standards, and line balancing.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or related field required
3-5 years of Engineering experience, preferably in the Textile, Non-Wovens or Automotive Industries
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Excellent mechanical aptitude required with demonstrated proficiency for the maintenance and repair of textile processing equipment.
