Mine Safety Supervisor (Guinean Local)
Under general supervision, this position reports to a HSE Manager or Project Management. Responsible for necessary analysis, audits and investigations of all work sites to minimize the potential for injury or other loss. Uses independent judgment in application of HSE procedures. Duties and responsibilities: Maintains site-wide industrial HSE programs and policies. Plans and executes the functions of a project HSE department. Under supervision, plans and executes the HSE department's activities within an area of the project. Supervises and trains subordinates assigned to his/her area or project. Assures timely investigations, inspections, and reporting of HSE matters within the area assigned or project. Develops, upgrades, and manages HSE programs, including awards and recognition programs Supports workers' compensation interface. Provides regulatory interface. Represents company in outside HSE organizations. Participates in monitoring and controlling HSE standards and applicable laws and regulations. Creates and administers orientation program for project employees. Maintains records, reports, and documents to meet company or regulatory requirements. Conducts investigations of project incidents that may result in litigation; obtains and protects collected data. Under supervision, maintains liaison with owners' representatives, insurance carriers, the community, and the corporate HSE group. Establishes specifications for HSE and fire protection equipment. Creates, evaluates, and administers company policies and procedures concerning HSE matters. Performs other duties as assigned.
