Job details

A. PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Operates a progressive die metal stamping press machine that bends, forms and blanks metal parts to product specification.
• Performs part number specific changeovers (set-ups) including tool and die set-ups.
• Ability to use, read and understand basic quality inspection tools.
• Ability to read, understand and complete documentation of manufacturing work orders.
• Performs specified quality checks and completes in-process inspection sheets to ensure product conformance to specifications.
• Checks alignment of steel and material handling device to ensure correct feed of material.
• Ability to modify programs in all types of controllers for correct die protection and feed requirements.
• Adjusts lubrication system for correct distribution of lubricant on part.
• Ensures all scrap removal systems remain working during production run.
B. OTHER: (e.g. authorizations, authority to issue directives, information rights):
• Actively participate in team meetings
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and problem solving activities
• Implement and sustain acceptable level of 5S.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
C. QUALITY AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES:
• Awareness and adherence to FBSC ISO-9001 Quality policies.
• Awareness and adherence to of Safety procedures and policies.
D. WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be dependable, responsible and self-motivated
• Must be highly productive and be able to multi-task under pressure.
• Responsible and accountable for personal and team performance
• Dexterity (eye/hand coordination)
• Able to bend, reach and lift 50 lbs.
• Ability and availability to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift when needed
E. KEY MEASURABLES:
• OHSA and Safety Culture compliance
• ISO 9001 Quality Management System compliance
• Personal goals and objectives
• Team Performance Goals regarding Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety/Suggestions, specifically the reduction of machine/equipment-related downtime
• 5S audits, Safety audits, Process audits, OSHA audits
• Training, Attendance and Disciplinary records
F. REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of high volume production/manufacturing experience preferably related to metal blanking, milling, and forming.
• Dexterity (eye/hand coordination)
• Successful completion of Safety-related Training.
• Basic computer skills
