Position: Senior Project Engineer (CAPEX) (m/f)

For our international client, operating within the chemical sector, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer (m/f). The location will be Iserlohn.
The main task of this position is the execution of CAPEX projects, including the conceptual, basic and detail engineering phases, as well as the construction and start-up. The Project Engineer leads these projects according to a defined time schedule, cost budget and requested quality. He independently leads the project groups, which may consist of client's employees and external contractors. Also part of the Project Engineer's responsibility is the project documentation and final handover to the production lead.
Process design of plants and equipment;
Checking compliance with legal requirements and internal standards for construction of plants;
Set-up of inquires, order specifications, offer evaluations and purchase requests;
Evaluating, designing and providing information for new equipment with respect to capacity, spare parts, production costs, energy efficiency, etc.;
Knowledge of and compliance with corporate EHS requirements;
Set-up of equipment specifications;
Process engineering check of planning;
Checking and responsibility for projects according to general project management guidelines;
Leading teams as a project leader;
Checking quality and costs for contractor work within this project;
Planning and execution of certification/acceptance tests;
Planning and checking of construction;
Execution of commissioning;
Check and acceptance of supplier documentation for newly purchased equipment;
Responsible for project documentation;
Training of production employees for new equipment.
Maintaining good relationships with the following departments:
Working together with procurement contacts to suppliers;
Contact person to EHS and contractor coordinators to avoid incidents during construction phase;
Supports production and maintenance for replacement investment;
Gives proposals to increase equipment availability (works together with reliability engineer);
Contact to fixed asset department for accurate control of capex spendings.
Academic degree with master or diploma in engineering (e.g. process-, chemical or mechanical engineer);
At least three years of experience in execution of CAPEX projects with planning, construction and commissioning of chemical plants are required;
Proven Skills and knowledge in modern office tools, e.g. MS Office applications, SAP, CAD and other tools that are necessary for his work;
Fluent in German and English.
