An international integrated chemicals and energy company is looking for an SAP Basis Specialist for a role in Houston, Texas.

Major Responsibilities:
• Work with internal and external partners to understand requests, gather requirements, perform ROI and risk analysis.
• Manage SAP Installation, Maintenance and Administration, Problem Determination and Performance Analysis for all SAP environments (development, test, training and production)
• Perform maintenance and support of SAP Security & GRC modules.
• Knowledge on compliance and privacy standards such as SOX and other required to meet the Compliance & Security related reporting requirements.
• Ensure technical solutions maintain design integrity, adhere to functional designs and meet business needs.
• Create test scripts and drive integration and regression testing.
• Successfully handle multiple issues and tasks, completing them on time and within budget while exceeding expectations.
• Ensure, where possible, that global solutions are scalable.
• Seek opportunities to develop and maintain knowledge of business processes, application functionality and configuration.
• Recommend operational continuous improvement opportunities, service efficiency initiatives and business process improvement to better serve business needs.
• Make recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the application.
• Work closely with other team members, locally and globally, proactively sharing expertise to improve and ensure team success
• Provide feedback on team members' performance.
• Submit written project status and time.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• At least 8 year experience in experience designing and implementing SAP Basis - Unix (prefer AIX/SQL platform) with at least 3 years of security Users and Roles in support customer requirements.
• At least 4 years of direct experience with SAP Security, Compliance Management, Risk Management, Customs Management, and other associated SAP tools and technology.
• SAP System Administration maintaining the system's health and performing the following tasks:
? Monitor system performance and logs
? Perform SAP Installations and upgrades including SAP Portal
? Performance analytics and tuning; system sizing and configuration
? Perform complex client and system copies
? Apply SAP Notes and SPS / EHP's
? Transport changes between systems using ChaRM
? SAP Spool Management / SAP Output Management
? SAP Batch Scheduler management of batch jobs
? Maintain the database health and integrity
? Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users
? Executes the design and supports the construction phases of a system and/or upgrade project
? Architects, constructs and de-bugs highly complex interfaces between SAP and legacy systems or between other SAP systems
• Deep experience with security concepts and User/Role administration across all SAP products (i.e, SAP BW/BI, CRM, Solution Manger, XI, /PI, SRM, APO and BOBJ) is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Role implementation and /or Role redesign by assisting customers in defining Roles and remediating potential
• Segregation of Duty (SoD) conflicts.
• Provide technical support for customer implementation of SAP-based technology like Centralized User Administration, Identity Management (IdM), Single Sign-On, and SAP GRC.
• Enforce security policies and procedures by performing periodic reviews of security reports for the customers.
• Chemicals /Oil and Gas Industry experience preferred.
