Manage a staff including hiring, firing, and completing performance reviews.
Manage the coordination of all the site equipment, labor and materials as well as program in time deliveries of material with Office Engineer
Constant contact with the CM to ensure schedule, cost and production is met and to anticipate management required with other third parties
Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Takes off and orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports. Perform accurate cost financial forecasting to ensure corporate profitability goals are met.
Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations
Ensure proper job controls, i.e. quantities, costs, revenue and schedule.
Attend coordination and production meetings with the CM to develop activities and amend possible problems related to structures.
Advises the Design Coordinator about issues related to constructability and/or conflicts resulting from deficient design
Coordinates, supervises and ensures the continuous safety of all the personnel and general public in his segment of work
BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
Minimum of 15 years' experience in heavy roadways of $150M+ scope of work
Experience in structures, utilities, drainage, pavement and MOT
Experience in Design-build projects.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or government regulations.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
