We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Manager for an opportunity within our client's team of experienced professionals. This a contract position, based in Portland, OR.
The Construction Manager works on-site during construction as a Owner's representative (CM Agency) monitoring and documenting all activities associated with the completion of a large project. Applies extensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation. Incumbent is thoroughly familiar with required contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected.
Construction Management (Agency) Owner Representation and Quality Assurance Services provided during construction of a large processing and distribution center (P&DC) by their Design Build Contractor.
Oversight of the owner's construction project, including the acting as the technical liaison between the owner, Design Build contractor, related agencies and other interested parties.
Oversight involves (but is not limited to) quality assurance over the physical work installed, interpretation of contract documents (technical/contractual/administrative) and the contractor's correspondence/ technical/financial/schedule submissions, making recommendations to the client, and supervision of resident engineers and other field staff throughout the project.
Individual shall hold an accredited degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering (structural, mechanical, civil, or electrical) with 10 years minimum of practical field experience in construction contract administration, project management, or supervision.
Experience in the construction of large ($50M to $100M) Tilt up industrial, manufacturing, retail and or multipurpose facilities w/ heavy civil/structural and mechanical systems in a ""Fast-Track"" fast-paced Design Build environment at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.
The candidate should be assertive, demonstrate leadership, and possess the ability to solve problems;
Proven fluency in Microsoft Office applications and basic digital photography;
Demonstrated experience in construction documentation and recordkeeping, Possess a working knowledge of scheduling applications (including review and evaluation);
Ability to produce construction cost estimates; review construction change orders, and understand quality management processes. Individual should be highly motivated and possess good written and oral communication skills. Limited travel may be required.
