We currently seek a Senior Quality Technician within our client's team of experienced professionals within the Arden, NC area. This position is expected to assist Quality Management in the execution of all areas related to quality including the training of fellow associates.
Develop instructions and forms, & maintain results records for inspection protocols for first-off and ongoing production product and process inspections per Control Plan requirements.
Conduct necessary quality inspection audits using proper equipment and techniques
Conduct capability studies on select processes and report findings
Monitor selected processes for stability and statistical control, analyze results and reports as required
Conduct PPAP activities per internal and customer requirements
Assist with problem solving - root cause analysis - corrective actions
Ensure incoming materials are in dimensional compliance as required by specifications
Ensure outgoing products are in compliance with required specifications
Ensure production personnel are following proper procedure for ongoing production checks
Assist with training and instruction for production operators in QA measuring procedures
Development and maintenance of quality procedures and work instructions
Gauge requirements - identification, procurement, and distribution
Gauge calibration and tracking
Audit and maintenance of documentation for compliance as required per ISO/TS16949
Provide management with detailed quality reports as required - daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
Other duties as required by quality management
Experienced user of standard quality assurance test equipment and measuring devices, including CMM's, profile and surface testing, macro & microscopic inspections, etc.
Experienced user of Microsoft software based computers and various database platforms to record data, including QSC and Minitab
Experienced with calibration and maintenance of standard test and measuring devices.
Experienced with automotive PPAP requirements and submissions.
Experienced work history in automotive parts machining in a tier 1-2 environment
Ability to read and interpret drawings and GD&T callouts
Excellent math skills as related to general mathematics and production statistics
Production Machining - Fabrication - CNC background preferred
High School diploma or GED
Associates degree in machining, engineering field, or technical field required
5 years of previous quality experience preferred
ASQ certification preferred (Company sponsored certification required within 6-9 months of full time employment)
Certification in TS16949 auditing (i.e. internal or lead auditor) preferred
Experience with CMM, Optical comparator, and Contour Trace equipment preferred
Background check and drug screen required.
