We are currently recruiting for a major Utilities company in the Offshore Wind sector. They are looking for a Site Yard Operative to work on a major Offshore Wind Farm project in Newhaven, East Sussex.
This is a contract position, 12 months in duration.

Support project stores, warehouse and quayside operations in Newhaven Port.
Working in conjunction with Site Storeman in operation of the site stores (PPE, COSHH, rigging loft etc) and managing delivery activities in the project construction base on the East Quay of Newhaven Port.
Use of site plant (rotohandler with winch, forklift) for moving plant and equipment between the warehouse and quayside and loading out parts from the quayside onto vessels moored alongside
Maintain a robust Goods in/Out Procedure for the accurate tracking of tools, equipment and materials.
Assisting the site team with preparation of personnel for offshore transfer (checking documentation & PPE and registering training) and management of the project pontoons
Good IT proficiency in MS Office type programs (Excel, Word etc)
Driving License and own transport required
Own laptop would be advantageous
Current fork lift certification is required
Current CPCS telehandler ticket is required
Certified Rigger and banksman
Additional training/certification for manual handling, COSHH and use of small onshore plant would be advantageous (small static cranes, davit winches etc.)
Offshore PPE recertification training would be advantageous
Arrange for crane operations as required for stores loading/unloading activities
Arrange shipments of any materials from site and be the onsite contact for receiving goods
Issue all relevant PPE for the site and update register
Periodic monitoring of the car park
Supervision of site visitors (access control, inductions, visitors register etc.)
Monitor adherence to site rules
Ensure walkways and site are kept clear of trip hazards
Manage access keys and access controls and maintain a key Register
Maintain Site vehicles, equipment and tools. Arranging servicing as required.
Manage site waste facilities and record all waste transfer notes
Assist with loading and offloading of vessel and road vehicle deliveries
Working to support quayside operations, pontoons and Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs)
Will be working in numerous locations around the port due to the positioning of CTV pontoons/moorings, as such;
Role requires a valid driving license and own transport.
Additional training/certification for use of small onshore plant would be advantageous (small static cranes, davit winches etc)
Valid manual handling training will be required, additional training e.g. COSHH would be advantageous
Provide backup to the Storeman role in cases of absence
Assist with loading/Offloading of vessels, by use of Manual handling and / or crane
