For one of our clients in the Oil, Gas and Chemical industry, we are currently looking for a Technical Service Manager EMEA

Job Description:
The Technical Service Manager provides the technical support to deliver profitable growth at selected CEAD accounts. Manage Targets & Opportunities portfolio for the segment to successful closure.


Tasks and Responsibilities:
• As a result of having broad and deep product, application, or manufacturing technology and industry knowledge specific to the Civil Engineering and Adhesives segment as well as sound business knowledge, helps to define and solve problems and/or identify opportunities;
• Interacts with peers in marketing, sales, and manufacturing to ensure alignment on solving customer problems;
• Speaks with customer and Account Manager to understand customer's needs and then determines if a visit/project will be a worthwhile investment. If the decision is to meet with the customer, finalize a mutually agreed upon agenda;
• Identifies customer needs through active listening, conducts a needs and wants analysis, determines justification, and then outlines next steps;
• Presents and explains technical product/project details to customers;
• Work effectively with R&D to solve customer problems;
• Implement technical support activities as agreed upon key account plan;
• Provide training to external and internal customers. Develop technical tools to support specialty products growth;
• Collects market, manufacturing, or competitor intelligence;
• Grows technical market or manufacturing expertise through customer contacts, reading literature and conference/industry body participation;
• Provides direction, coaching and feedback to staff working on his/her project(s);
• Identifies the needs, seeks approval, and then writes, maintains, and updates technical manuals, marketing communications and information files;
• Writes memos and TS reports;
• Builds and effectively uses industry-wide network inside and outside his/her own organization;
• Prepares presentations / papers for in- and external customers and industry gatherings;
• Interacts with peers and customers with professionalism and respect;
• Acts within boundaries agreed upon with supervisor;
• Manage and contribute to various projects: Participate and lead various projects based on business needs;
• Carries out activities living up to EH&S standards and appreciating business impact.

Required knowledge and skills:
• Technical or scientific university degree (Master).
• 5-10 year experience in Related field (Technical Service, technical marketing, R&D experience is a plus);
• Technical expert with experience in Epoxy Resins or Civil Engineering and Adhesives - technical service experience is not required. Short industry experience is preferred;
• Fluent in English and German, French and Dutch being a plus.

Competences:
• Good project management skills;
• Strong customer orientation;
• Good networking capabilities/Relationship oriented (commercial, technical depts.);
• Capable of making optimal use of technical resources. Lab work activities are also required
