Incident & Injury-Free (IIF) Field Coordinator

Our client, a leading EPCM with projects worldwide, is seeking an Incident & Injury-Free (IIF) Field Coordinator to join their team in Kitimat, BC. The role reports to the HSSE Programs Manager on-site.

Reporting to the IIF Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible to develop relationships with key field leaders of project partner companies, and coach / support them in promoting IIF culture within their teams. Support leaders from each company mastering the skills developed in IIF training and workshops.

Responsibilities:
- Completion of IIF Train the Trainer for the IIF in Action, IIF seminars Living IIF in Action and Supervising IIF in Action.
- Attend start of shift meetings and lead/coach others to lead engaging, interactive conversations that reinforce IIF.
- Attend team huddles and observe / coach supervision in assigning tasks and completing pre-task hazard assessments in a way that promotes IIF.
- Walk site with HSE professionals to observe/coach them in developing their communication skills when interacting with others that support an IIF culture.
- Visit with IIF team members of each company – IIF Sponsor, IIF Coordinator, IIF Champions, IIF trainers and IIF Area Action teams and provide support and coaching where needed.
- Facilitate Supervising IIF in Action training. Support delivery of Living IIF in Action modules within the company.
- Working knowledge of site-specific HSE processes including but not limited to Life Critical Operations and Life Saving Rules

Qualifications:
- IIF or another cultural-based program experience on a large scale or mega construction project.
- 5+ of industry experience working on large scale projects and knowledge of HSE processes such as risk evaluation and mitigation tools, creation of JHA’s and FLHA, and incident investigations
- Able to leverage industry and business diversity to implement coaching tools and processes in the areas of effective communication, applied leadership, personal and team development, and risk management and mitigation.
- Able to employ specific processes to drive significant behavioural changes that affect overall performance, recommend and support the implementation of initiatives, and lead the planning and execution of process improvements.
- Able to integrate with both employees and leadership to support and encourage improvements, maximize efficiency and effectiveness, and facilitate an emphasis on people as the single most important component of any company.
- Exhibits a high degree of critical thinking, analytical, and project management skills to understand organizational goals and strategic vision and to implement sustainable cultural, employee, and performance improvements.
- Able to build rapport and productive relationships at all levels within organizations.
