DURATION: PERMANENT
SALARY: R20, 000 – R30, 000 per month

“TRS is looking for an experienced Building Materials Buyer based in Durban, who will be responsible for procurement of building materials and growth within this department for our FMCG Client, an importer and distributor of fresh and frozen perishables and a represents a portfolio of leading retail industry.”

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Procure and source building materials both locally and internationally.
• Build strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers (locally and internationally).
• Problem solving and claim resolution.
• Negotiation of pricing and settlement discounts.
• Identify product opportunities in new and existing markets.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Accredited Degree / BTech qualification in Supply Chain / Materials Management.
• Must have 5 years’ experience in the Building Material Procurement industry.
• Must understand pricing, claims, value chains and settlement discounts.
• Good working knowledge of building materials.
• An understanding of Exports and Logistics would be advantageous.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Successful track record of buying.
• Determined and motivated.
• Hard worker and good team player.
• Persistent.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ambitious, positive and energetic.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to handle high pressure negotiations.
• Solution driven.
• Resourceful, creative and dynamic.
