This is a freelance position for a minimum of 12 months. Starting in May 2020.
Previous Offshore Wind Project Development experience is essential
General Obligations and Tasks:
• Supports the client in the preparation and evaluation of technical tenders for medium and high voltage land-/submarine-cable supply;
• Deep knowledge of submarine cable standards such as IEC, CIGRE, VDE, ICEA
• Very good knowledge of the current state of the art and technical development in the relevant field of activity
• Assessment, quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the proposed solutions of suppliers and service providers, including comments on changes or similar;
• Control and monitoring of the contractually compliant performance of services with regard to scope of delivery, deadlines, costs, quality, risks and occupational safety;
• Ensuring that services are performed in accordance with the contract with regard to scope of delivery, deadlines, costs, quality, risks and occupational safety;
• Interface to internal and external project participants;
• Monitoring of compliance with the client's defined HSSE framework conditions;
• Participation in and management of construction meetings;
• Adhere to the project manual and all relevant project processes and the assigned forms/templates;
• Travel to production and construction sites;
• min. Qualification is a completed university degree in the relevant field of activity;
• Business fluent use of English language in spoken and written form, German and Polish preferable;
Technical Responsibilities:
• The Cable Expert for Medium and High Voltage Land and Submarine Cable acts as project expert for all medium and high voltage cable supply for land & submarine cable incl. relevant accessories such as Connectors, Offshore Repair Joints, DTS, etc.
• Coordination of all work package-specific tasks and interfaces. Collaboration with other work packages and departments (procurement, operations, logistics, etc.) and key stakeholders (partners, regulators);
• Support of the award negotiations from a technical point of view;
• Review and comment on the design, documentation and make design decisions and recommendations;
• Identifying and mitigating technical risks and ensuring that the design enables safe and efficient manufacture, installation, commissioning, testing and operation;
• Responsible for conducting technical audits and inspections during the manufacturing process and for providing technical support to the installation;
• Management of subcontractors and, if required, additional experts in the package;
• Participation in the creation and implementation of the commissioning strategy;
• Close cooperation with the O&M manager and SCADA experts;
