Contract Quality Engineer (1 Year)

Job Title: Contract Quality Engineer
Location: Ladson, SC and Summerville, SC plant locations (plant is relocating)
Pay: $35-40/hr depending on experience
Shift: days 8a-5p
Status of Hire: 1 year contract (12 months, may go longer), full-time, exempt, salaried

Reports to: Quality Manager

Essential Functions:
· Assist the quality team in the plant relocation and in setup of new machinery
· Working with current quality staff to perform analysis on quality performance data and put it in the proper format to work with our customer quality engineers
· Creation and submission of PPAPs, PPAP documentation
· Get testing set up through production and LOG staff, collecting, measuring and analyzing data
· Provide a report of sample studies to current quality team in order to discuss findings with our customer
· Drive gauge R&R activities
· Perform product and process measurements to support SPC methods
· Create/utilize control plans to document quality systems
· Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action

Required Skills / Education / Experience:
· Must have 3+ years tier I automotive product quality engineering experience
· Must have minimum Associates degree in an engineering, business, technical, or related field
· Good working knowledge of quality tools and concepts (PPAP submissions, APQP Deliverables)
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent writing skills
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Good organizational skills
· Self-motivated
· Able to coordinate more than one project at a time
· Knowledge of ISO, QS9000, and IATF 16949 v2
