34kV Control Engineer (CE)
• As part of the new Control and Monitoring Centre (CMC) in, located at the Walney offshore windfarm O&M office, there is a need for temporary control engineering support. We are looking for experienced SAPs who can act as a control engineer for switching on 34kV WTG array networks during maintenance activities. The role will support and provide guidance to the 24/7 shift team of operators within the CMC and perform control engineering duties (see below). The role will primarily be required to support the nights shift (or late evening period) and we can be flexible about the working pattern.
Key deliverables
• Managing all electrical operations controlled via the CMC
• Train the CMC operators in electrical safety rules
Requirements:
• Typical requirements for a control engineer are:
• Planning of all switching activities on sites onshore activities
• Monitoring and reporting in the SCADA-system
• Managing and controlling a complete log of all activities on site including all switching activities
• Controlling the safety documents for the Electrical Safety Rules on site
• Controlling and managing all HV- and LV-electrical operations on site
• Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV-submarine cables.
• Oversee all MV/H/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network
• Following the Code Compliance in the relevant Country
• Reviewing the high voltage scope of work
• Develop reference documentations and processes
• Knowledge and experience with country specific standards
Tasks for the Control Engineer
• Ensure compliancy with and managing of Electrical Safety Rules
• Participation in safety coordination around electrical operations
• Outage management and network control
• Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules
• Check method statements for electrical matters
• Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules
• Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters
