“TRS is delighted to be working for an award winning Client who has an exciting opportunity for a talented Control Systems Design Engineer with Petrochemical and Oil & Gas Industry experience to be based in Durban, South Africa.”

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs moderately complex engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments, with the following KPAs:
• Perform control systems sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermowells and other instrumentation.
• Create instrument index and datasheets, generate reports, and monitor design wiring and loop development activities in Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation database.
• Develop intermediate complexity control systems narrative specifications.
• Develop control systems logic diagrams and/or cause and effect diagrams.
• Represent control systems in model reviews; closely monitor 3D modeling prepared by design group utilizing review software.
• Develop specifications and design of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic.
• Controller (PLC) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) hardware and software applications.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Accredited 4 years’ Bachelor’s of Science / Engineering (Control Systems) Degree preferably or equivalent 15 years’ plus experience within Petrochemical and Oil & Gas Industry.
• Minimum 8-10 years of project-related Control Systems Engineering Experience within Oil and Gas Industry.
• Must have Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials.
• Knowledge and Experience on InTools, and other Control Systems Engineering Systems
