TRS is seeking an Electrical Construction Planner for our client's team of experienced construction planner professionals in Greensboro, NC!
Planner Role Description:
The Electrical Construction Planner is responsible for managing the electrical discipline/department for self perform and subcontracted projects. From time to time, may be assigned as a construction manager with responsibilities for multiple disciplines. Planner responsibilities include Safety, Cost, Quality, Schedule, Construction Execution, Construction Completion, Participation in Constructability and other Savings Programs.
North Carolina State Electrical License
This role requires a North Carolina State Electrical License, or the ability to receive within one year of hire. Additionally, will be involved in the electrical construction permitting process including acquiring permits and inspections with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
IPD is becoming this client's expected method of executing and delivering select construction projects. IPD is a part of the Construction Innovation Technology trend currently affecting the industrial construction market. This role will require the learning of and participation and involvement in the site IPD program. Training program is available to assist.
Specific Planner Expectations:
Active participant in the site safety program.
Working knowledge of site safety program and policies.
Responsible for assigned subcontractor(s) safety performance and adherence to site safety policies.
Participate in project safety planning and develop specific safety plans for assigned projects and shutdowns.
Participate in incident and accident investigations and required follow up activity.
Perform regular BOS (Behavior Observation Surveys) on a weekly basis.
Perform daily safety audits throughout the work area(s)
Ensure assigned subcontractors are completing JSA forms (Job Hazard Analysis) properly, and are reviewed and approved.
Attend the weekly construction safety meeting.
Attend the monthly project wide safety meeting.
Ensure assigned subcontractors monthly safety data is reported in a timely manner.
Ensure all subcontractor personnel brought on site have completed site-specific safety orientation.
Ensure every subcontractor company has a certificate of insurance with required coverage's on file prior to mobilizing on site.
Track, monitor, and report costs for assigned projects.
Follow the Change Management System for approved Scope Changes.
Ensure approved Work Orders/Purchase Orders/Change Orders prior to work starting.
Ensure documentation is developed to support change orders.
Provide or assist in providing data for project/monthly cost review requirements.
Ensure estimates and pricing are based upon current/approved EI Packages (specifications and drawings)
Ensure the quality of the work is maintained.
Ensure proper quality inspections are in place including third party inspections, which may be required as well as contractor-executed inspections.
Make routine inspections of the work as it progresses issuing appropriate non-conformance reports, notices of acceptance or rejection as necessary to document critical activities.
Verify installations comply with the approved design documents, IWS principles, and applicable code requirements.
Ensure local and all Code compliance inspections are completed.
Develop or participate in the development of construction schedules for assigned projects.
Ensure subcontractors provide schedules for their work with the appropriate level of detail.
Assist in developing integrated construction schedules as required.
