Electrical Design Specialist

Our client is seeking an Electrical Design Specialist to join their team of professionals. This position will located in either Aliso Viejo, CA OR Long Beach, CA


We are also seeking Electrical Designers(Mid & Senior level) candidates

• Twenty (20) years of experience in Electrical Design and Construction of the oil, gas, petrochemical and refining facilities
• Prepare most complex design, layout, and checking of Electrical Area Classification, One-line diagram,
• Substation layout, Grounding, Underground, Lighting, Aboveground Power, Cable Tray, Conduit and Cable schedules, Schematic, Motor Elementary and Connection diagrams
• Has a complete understanding of Electrical Drawings
• Interprets and applies codes, job procedures, standards and specifications
• Perform advanced design calculations (lighting, raceway sizing and wire sizing, voltage drop, cable pulling, panel board and breaker sizing, and junction box sizing)
• Interprets and checks supplier drawings and other discipline drawings
• Performs Field Surveys & Site Walk downs
• Provides field assistance as required
• Has a complete knowledge of materials and equipment
• Performs bulk material takeoff
• Software Skills to include the use of Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheet and e-mail
• Proficient in 2D (ACAD and MicroStation)
• Performs inspection of equipment as required
• Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
• Function as a Supervisor as required
• 3D modeling (Intergraph S3D)
• Intergraph SmartPlant Review software
• Previous experience in Electrical field survey.
• Requires frequent visits to local refineries for field surveys
