You would be at work within a growing EPCM/construction firm with projects worldwide and joining a team of talented professionals all working towards one goal. In this very exciting role, the qualified individual will be responsible for construction planning and execution, and compliance monitoring in terrestrial, riparian, freshwater, and marine areas. This candidate will also be responsible for the review of construction scopes against regulatory requirements, permit conditions, and Environmental Management Requirements.

Job duties:

-Consult crews planning and execution of construction activities under Fisheries Act Authorizations and other permits
-Oversight of execution contractors and support staff
-Provide professional opinion on matters related to execution of environmentally sensitive scopes
-Field direction of effective execution of construction, reclamation and contaminated sites
-Verify compliance with federal and provincial regulations, and investigating compliance and conformance
-Effective record keeping of environmental observations and compliance monitoring activities

Qualifications:

- Relevant bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, etc.
- Relevant professional designation is an asset
- 5+ years experience working in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of local, provincial and federal environmental regulations
- Experience working in marine, estuary, freshwater, and terrestrial environments
- Previous working experience in oil and gas, hydroelectric and mining projects
