Summary of position:Perform/manage all aspects of the proposal phase of a project inclusive of development of project proposals, estimates, and executing the win-strategy of project pursuit. Oversee preconstruction effort from project award through complete turnover to operations lead including client interface, managing the design team, managing unified workflow, as well as managing the overall budget. Requirements / Must haves:• Ability to develop HVAC and plumbing budgets based on schematic information. • Strong estimating capabilities. • Demonstrated skills of proactively planning projects and implementing design strategies to maintain project budgets. • Ability to lead preconstruction activities on a major project. • Ability to perform value engineering analyses. • Deep understanding of engineering systems, higher than the PE or PM level. • Ability to communicate with all levels of management. • Ability to present proposals and give sales presentations. • Strong knowledge of building HVAC mechanical systems.• Must have attention to detail and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in their work. • Must have working knowledge of Design software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.• Problem Solving Skills. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Able to gather and analyze information skillfully to develop alternative solutions. Resourceful and displays original thinking and creativity. • Customer Service Skills. Responds promptly to customer needs and meets commitments. Solicits customer feedback to improve service. • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations. Maintains professionalism by treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.• Organizational Skills. Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities which include planning for additional resources. Must be able to coordinate projects, communicate changes and progress, and complete projects on time and budget. • Leadership Skills. Ability to manage other people and their tasks. Ability to develop realistic action plans. Ability to find ways to improve and promote quality and can apply feedback to improve performance. • Decision-making Skills. Ability to make timely decisions; provide support and explain the reasoning for decisions made. Must exhibit sound and accurate judgment. Must be capable of working with the appropriate people in decision-making process. • Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability; Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; Aligns work with strategic goals. Works within approved budget; Contributes to profits and revenue; Develops and implements cost saving measures; Conserves organizational resources.• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including CAD drawings, Blueprints, Submittals, etc.• Ability to work at a computer terminal with mouse and keyboard for several hours per day.• Ability to visit job construction areas and climb stairs, maneuver in and around pipe work and air ducts and work safely in close proximity to construction materials and equipment.Job Duties:• Coordinate prequalification responses with division Proposal Manager. • Develop and present budgets to client. • Schedule and manage proposal kickoff meeting with appropriate team members. • Prepare
