FTTP Designer

Here is an exciting opportunity to join our client located in Calgary, Alberta as a FTTP Designer! You would be at work within a utility contracting company alongside a team of talented professionals all working towards one goal. This opportunity boasts longevity and a great work-life balance.

In this role, the qualified candidate will be joining a well-established team who provides services such as directing and permitting processes related to outside plant (OSP) Telecommunications construction. This would also include the designing and drafting of all deliverables for our customers.

Responsibilities:
• Conducts evaluations to find the best placement method of new infrastructure.
• Considers costs of projects as well as legal regulations in every decision.
• Must be able to design FTTP networks from the Central Office to the customer’s Point of Entry.
• In charge of allocating materials in the most efficient way possible to every necessary location.
• Creates and updates material order forms as well as testing sheets, typical drawings, splicing schematics, and client database postings such as Spatial Net, Network X, and GCOMM.
• Drafts IFR, IFC and ASR packages.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience as an OSP Designer specializing in Brownfield FTTP.
• Post-secondary education in an Engineering or Technical program required.
• Experience in designing and drafting in GCOMM, NetworkX and Spatial Net.
