HR/IR Tech

Contract (3 Years)

Detroit, MI

$19-$20/hr

 

Job Description:

Create and maintain employee and/or contractor records (electronic and hard copy files)

  • Maintain and update information in databases and Human Resource information system (HRIS)
  • Develop and maintain a general understanding of Company specific Human Resource standards, policies, programs, and goals by applying procedures as established by the Company or local department
  • Assist higher level staff in the preparation of simple ad hoc statistical summaries and standard reports from HRIS and other simple ad hoc reports, as directed
  • Administer and process Human Resource documents
  • Prepare invoices/remittances for payment; reconcile invoices
  • Organize and schedule meetings, activities, events, and training sessions
  • Assist with communicating and answering general customer queries related to Human Resource procedures, policies, and guidelines
  • Regularly communicate internally and externally (i.e., candidates, employees, benefits providers, staffing agencies, etc.), as required
  • Perform and follow up on tasks as assigned
  • Maintain and preserve strict confidentiality

  • Provide administrative support on compensation procedures

 

Employee Relations (ER) and HR Compliance (HRC):

  • Develop working knowledge of ER and HRC programs, processes, and procedures
  • Perform routine technician tasks related to ER and HRC
  • Perform administrative duties, including answer phones, file, schedule appointments, coordinate meetings and training logistics, assemble training manuals, enter database information, create and maintain records, prepare presentation materials, and provide additional support to specialists, managers, and directors as needed
  • Assist with the monitoring of progress on case management close outs, preparing and updating files and statistical summaries
  • Assist with the documentation of ER and HRC issues and requirements for data gathering, forms processing, and reporting
  • Demonstrate team-orientation with all levels of employees
  • Apply a basic understanding of the company’s organizational structure, corporate culture and business objectives
  • Maintain good communication and a positive relationship with employees and management
  • Maintain a positive ER climate by responding to department or employee questions or concerns, addressing issues proactively and advising ER and HRC management regarding proper company practices

 

Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS):

  • Use HR Data Management applications for routine questions and problems
  • Provide assistance for routine programs and procedures
  • Assist with tracking and processing employee data

 

Mobility Services:

  • Update various tracking data bases to support mobility metrics
  • Provide administrative support in the processing of visas or immigration documentation
  • Assist vendors with various routine administrative duties
  • Advise employees regarding basic relocation procedures
  • Maintain and update vendor records
  • Update websites

 

Recruiting:

  • Provide support in sourcing resumes and producing offers of employment for new hires, rehires, and promotions
  • Update applicant tracking systems with applicant data and status
  • Assist with organizing and attend new hire orientation, career fairs, and career events to provide support

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years’ experience in HR or Training
  • May have experience working within one or more HR function(s) or HR/Training support role
  • Demonstrated ability to be discreet with confidential company and employee information
  • Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
