Our client is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team of professionals. This position is based in Phoenix, AZ or Las Vegas, NEV
Summary of position:
The Human Resources Generalist ensures the effective and consistent delivery of human resources services including: on-boarding/off boarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation support, and general administrative tasks. Serves as a partner to management and helps guide business decisions related to people. This position requires the ability to work closely with all levels of management and employees, while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism. Will entertain managerial level candidates.

Requirements / Must haves:
• Significant knowledge of, employment law, workforce planning/recruitment, employee and labor relations, and training and development. General knowledge of compensation and benefits.
• Ability to build and maintain very effective relationships and work successfully as an influencer across organization lines and at all levels, while supporting remote managers/employees. Excellent customer service skills with timely responses.
• MUST HAVE; Enployee Relations experience
• Very effective communications skills, both oral and written.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues in a professional manner.
• Very strong organizational and problem solving skills; ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities; ability to work independently.
• Ability to determine and ensure federal, state, and local compliance across a wide range of geographies.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
• Ability to travel primarily to West Coast locations on a consistent basis, and occasionally to East Coast branch.
• Long tenure is valued; Background at a smaller company with experience of touching many of the HR functional areas desired. Also requires ability to navigate matrix relationships and support remote locations.
• Prefer building automation, construction, engineering, or manufacturing experience. Retail background is not a fit.
• Solid HR Generalist experience, grounded in California/Federal compliance, Employee Relations case management experience a must, experience with union employees and collective bargaining agreements strongly desired.
• Successful candidates will thrive in the fast paced, ever changing environment. Ability to work independently, multi task, change direction, be flexible, and viewing role as partner/influencer to the business will lead to success.

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree required. Human Resources Management, business management or a related field of study preferred.
• 5-7 plus years of progressive experience in Human Resources. Building Automation, Construction, Engineering or similar industry experience preferred.
• PHR or SPHR Certification desired but not mandaaory

Job Duties:
• Develop very effective partnership with the branch management teams and strong relationships with employees at all levels. Develops, partners, and advises management teams on business decisions involving people and staffing. Serves as front-line first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and requests and provide excellent customer service to managers/employees on a day to day basis.
• Responsible for managing employee relations issues including good faith investigations, performance counseling and termination processing in accordance with company policies and all state and federal laws. Serve as a neutral trusted advisor to both employees and managers on a daily basis. Knowledge of union contracts in order
