Our client is seeking a Junior Accountant /Bookkeeper to join their team of professionals. This position is based in Irvine, CA.
Our client is looking for a candidate who has experience with AR, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, etc. manufacturing environment This client will train someone who has about 2-3 years experience and teach them cost accounting and analysis.
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of duties of an accounting nature requiring initiative and use of judgment. All accounting staff are cross trained.
? Someone who comes from a smaller company doing bookkeeping for 2-3 years and has been exposed to cost accounting.
? Someone who comes from a manufacturing environment will be exposed to cost accounting even if they were not doing the duties.
? AR/AP, GL, Bank reconciliations, etc.
? Good communication - Will be dealing with customers
? Understands finance - but not a CPA
? Cost Accounting experience to analyze & report variances to management
Examples of Essential Functions:
Run credit reports and interface with sales organization/VP-Finance to communicate credit decisions and ensure timely review of new customers.
Researches cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts. Prepares daily bank deposit and processes credit card transactions.
Performs computer data input and generates documents and/or reports, as required, in accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, labor, shippers and invoices, checks and bank statement reconciliation.
Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Participates in physical inventories and monitors cycle count program
Maintains the general accounting system; prepares journal entries; and reconciles ledger accounts
Processes sales rep commissions
Creates spreadsheet documents to analyze internal and external data
Maintains strict confidentiality of client and personnel information
Cross-trains in A/P and Payroll duties
Prepares or assists in preparation of financial reports, analyses and audit schedules.
Associates degree in accounting or business with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
General accounting principles and procedures, MS Office suite, emphasis on Excel, third-party payroll processing, third-party credit reporting processes.
