Labour Relations Manager

Our client, a leading Industrial Construction company with services Canada wide, is currently recruiting for a Labour Relations Manager to join their Western Canada team. This candidate will be responsible for planning and executing management functions of the Industrial Relations function. This will be a full-time contract position.

In this very exciting role, the qualified individual will manage and coordinate the daily activities of the Industrial Relations functions and Industrial Relations specialists. Some duties include setting priorities for the IR specialists to ensure task completion, maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of IR procedures and make recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organizations objectives.

Job Duties:
- Manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on the job and formal training and development opportunities and timely performance feedback
- Manage a large functional IR area
- Executes management functions of the IR functions, including ALMA’s, appropriate labor posture and execution approach, labor contract negotiations, employee relations issues and coaching/counseling
- Interface and maintain a close relationship with groups inside and outside the organization (other departments, labor organizations, etc.)
- Manager record keeping, reporting and documentation that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring initiatives
- Communicate effectively with audiences that include, but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and other stakeholders

Qualifications:
- Accredited 4 year degree in applicable field of study
- 10+ years of work related experience
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
- Basic interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have current BC union experience at a Senior level
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time conscious and time effective manner
