Our client is seeking a Lead Engineer to coordinate and manage the independent checking of the build stages of a major rail project in Saudi Arabia. The Lead Engineer shall also be responsible for managing a small team and ensuring the checking of all designs prepared including the execution of works on site are carried out to specification and standards. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions within the Kingdom candidates will ideally be based in Saudi Arabia
Responsibilities
Provide independent, technical oversight of the Contractor’s design and build activities and pro-actively report all discrepancies and non-compliances from defined requirements, processes and procedures to the Contractor
Issue a monthly report to the Contractor, highlighting any discrepancies and non-compliances identified together with the corresponding corrective actions implemented or agreed.
Supervise all Infrastructure/Civil and (Transit system) and subsystems assessment during the build phase
Chair/Lead technical meetings with the Client
Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
PE or Chartered Engineer of a relevant professional Institution
Minimum 20 years overall experience in Civil Engineering with significant experience in a railway engineering environment.
Have a working knowledge of relevant national and international standards and codes, including EN 50126 and NFPA 130
