We are currently recruiting for a major Utility company in the Offshore Wind industry. They have a requirement for a Lead Offshore Technician to work on a large Offshore Wind Farm project in the far North East of Scotland.

This is a long term contract position, 18 months +. Candidates must live within commuting distance to Wick (circa 100 miles). Start date early September

The tasks will be, but not limited to:-

• Day to day tasks, mostly offshore, as directed by the Lead Construction & Commissioning Managers
• Conduct and record toolbox talks and other relevant HSE documentation
• Ensure correct PPE is in place & worn by the Technicians for the specific work to be carried out, reporting immediately any defective, worn, missing PPE
• Provide practical & technical assistance to the O&M team
• Daily Housekeeping on site and in the Construction base in Wick
• Management of PPE and Safety Equipment, keeping an inventory.
• Ensure the necessary quality documentations are prepared and collected for archiving
• Liaise with Marine Coordination Centre in connection with planning of the operations
• Write daily reports
• Be available to attend call-outs in accordance with vessel movements and construction requirements, including weekends and evenings
• Maintenance and replacement of defective fall-arrestors & Davit Cranes
• Cleaning of offshore assets using jet/power washer (includes TP, boat landings, pontoons, etc.)
• Keep records of offshore structures for snags, punch list items, bird guano and paint damage
• Generator fuelling, maintenance, servicing and removal on TP's and OTM's
• When necessary, maintenance & replacement of defective Aviation/Temporary Navigation light on assets
• Site walk-downs and checks (as directed by Lead Construction Manager)
• Inspection and monitor re-certification requirements of hook-on points
• General yard duties, which will include manual handling, etc.
• When necessary assist with fuelling of Crew Transfer vessels
• Removal of waste from structures
• Cleaning mould/mildew and removal of water from inside the TP's
• Ad-hoc tasks (both onshore and offshore)

Skills and experience required:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Lead Offshore Technician or similar position
• Demonstrable experience in current HSE policy and application to safe systems of work
• Capability of concise and accurate reporting
• Required Offshore training & certification in line with the project requirements for transferring offshore, including Work at Height and Confined Space
• Relevant education: Rigger/Bandsman/Slinger, Cutting/Grinding/Drilling and confined space
• Hold the complete suite of GWO qualifications
• Trained and authorised by the fall arrest system manufacturer to repair and replace SRL fall arrest system
• Training in Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Sea
