The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for changes to enhance machine functionality and improve overall machine reliability by analyzing repeat breakdowns throughout the facility, developing defined technical process for repairs, assisting in the review of tooling spare parts. He/she will strive to improve process capabilities, equipment uptime and other defined metrics.
Essential Functions:
1. Identifies and captures opportunities for improvement in equipment maintainability and reliability.
2. Investigates problems, analyzes root causes and derives resolutions. Will use 8D & A3 Problem Solving Process to ensure sustainable quality products.
3. Participates in technical audits and compliance assessments, and follows up on closure of remedial action plans.
4. Develops planning standards, methods, and procedures
5. Works with the Maintenance Supervisors and Planners for maintenance department project planning and implementation.
6. Manage the implementation of continuous improvement processes for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment
7. May act as deputy for Maintenance Group Leader
8. Proposes and manages medium-scale projects from beginning to end.
9. Responsible for creating procedures and workflows in an effort to meet IATF TS16946 requirements
10. Understand and comply with TS 16949 and ISO 1400 requirements
11. Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
12. Will perform other duties as assigned
Specific Skills:
1. Ability to understand and apply statistical and business improvement tools to improve and sustain business results.
2. Troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
3. Organizational, practical mathematical (statistical) skills, analytical and problem solving.
4. Communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to communicate detailed, technical initiatives to non-technical people.
6. Ability to conceptualize, analyze, plan and organize projects.
7. Reasoning skills for problem identification and resolution.
8. Proficient in Microsoft office suite tools
9. Ability to manage multiple priorities
10. Understanding and working knowledge of CMMS systems and work orders
