Naval Designer

Function:

As a Naval Designer you are responsible for the creation, checking and delivery of yard work packs, naval arrangements, construction plans, and material lists as per rule and project requirements. Work is performed both in a 2D and 3D design environment. Additionally, you may be requested to assist in stability analyses and basic structural analysis.

You report to the Lead Engineer on progress, setbacks and concerns, and you signal technical risks and anomalies in the project to your Section Head. If required you perform activities abroad, on site or with a client.

Requirements:

We are looking for an accurate and pro-active Designer or Senior Designer who is able to work independently as well as in teams.

Furthermore you have:

• a degree (HBO/BSc) in Naval Architecture or equivalent;
• a minimum of 4 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry. Experience with FSOs or FPSOs is a pre;
• experience with AutoCad and 3D Design software (preferably Inventor);
• knowledge of hydrostatics and typical naval and structural designs;
• knowledge of relevant international design codes and Class regulations (like DNVGL, LR, SOLAS, and MARPOL) ;
• fluent English, verbally as well as in writing, Dutch is nice to have.
