Job Title: Officer SHERQ Compliance
Location: Northern Cape, Kathu
Salary: Negotiable

MAIN TASK & RESPONSIBILITY
-
Prevent and minimise accidents, dangerous occurrences and non-conformances in respect of safety and health standards. Ensure Black Rock is compliant at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Essential unless otherwise indicated):
-
Grade 12
-
Certificate: ISO 31000 / 45000 / 9000 / 9001
-
Diploma: Safety Management
-
Certificate: SAMTRAC / COMSOC 1 or 2
-
Certificate: Trade Test / Blasting in Metalliferous mines
-
Drivers Licence Code B
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS (Essential unless otherwise indicated):
-
5 years’ experience Safety and compliance in a mining / engineering environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (Essential unless otherwise indicated):
-
Electronic Document Management System
-
Microsoft Office
-
SHERQ Systems
-
Quality Management
-
Support and participate in sub-functional change management to drive transformation and optimisation
-
Drawing from own experience or vocational knowledge, identify and recommend initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improved productivity and reduce operating costs within scope
-
Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot-checks
-
Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members or using own vocational knowledge and experience
-
Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes
-
Provide input into sub-functional planning. Plan team activities
-
Resolve problems as they are encountered to ensure achievement against plan
-
Ensure operational plan is implemented
-
Inspect designated work areas, record in log book and report to Management for corrective action
-
Investigate implementation of remedial actions from investigations and DMR findings
-
Complete and update and keep record of all documentation with regards to findings and compliance
-
Confirm if current documents are up to date and relevant
-
Attend all relevant procedures and standards meetings, draft and / or review the MCOP’s (Mandatory Code of Practice) and ensure relevancy of documents accordingly.
