The PC/hardware technician is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the company's computing environment by supporting existing end-user hardware and software requirements throughout the company's headquarters and branches. This position requires a high degree of communication through all areas of the organization, planning, and organization to ensure high usability and support of all end-users.Responsibilities•Employee Customer Service - In order to provide excellent customer service to our employees, the hardware technician is able to provide outstanding technical assistance and customer-friendly technical support for incoming and assigned help-desk queries and issues related to end user hardware, including, but not limited no laptops, workstations, printers, faxes, copiers, employee smart phones, and related software.In addition, the hardware technician acknowledges and responds at all assigned help-desk queries within the customer specified service level agreement, and closes all tickets upon resolution, following established I.T. policies and procedures.•Service Diagnostic Laptop Maintenance - The PC/hardware technician is responsible for maintaining our fleet of service diagnostic laptops which include maintaining operational status as well as tracking and keeping all diagnostic software licensing current.•Hardware Maintenance - The PC/hardware technician is responsible for maintaining workstations, laptops, printers, and other end-user computing peripherals in regards to cleanliness, hardware functionality.•Hardware Preparation and Deployment - The PC/Hardware technician is responsible for performing base-level workstation and laptop formats (Windows 7) and installation of base-line software installations. These units, once ready for deployment by the I.T. manager, will be assigned for installation at the client location. The installations will require attention to detail to workstation/laptop placement, cable dressings, etc to maintain a presentable installation for the end-user. •Travel - The PC/hardware technician is required to be able to travel to remote branches to perform their job responsibilities. This includes repair efforts, installations, and/or cabling projects..•Cabling Projects - The PC/Hardware technician will be able to complete small to mid-level CAT5/6 cabling projects at headquarters and remote branches as needed. The projects would include proper running of cables, termination with RJ45 at Z End and termination at the switch plates when necessary.Required Technical Skills•3+ years of PC hardware repair•A+ minimum certification•3+ years of windows OS experience (XP and Windows 7)Desired Technical Skills•Anti-virus application experience•Experience in OS restorations• Experience in data restoration/retrieval from client machines. Required Non-Technical Skills•Excellent PC skills required including all Microsoft Office applications and Outlook (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)•Excellent communication skills with good spoken and written English•Excellent typing skills•Attention to detail with an organized and methodical approach to work•Ability to work in a team as well as alone•Flexible and able to deal with change and a busy workload•Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision•Strong organizational skills and ability to manage own time as well as those of others•Punctuality, reliability and accuracy a must•Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
