Job Title: Principal Project Engineer
Location: Midrand
Contract/ Perm: Permanent
Discipline: Engineering

General purpose:
• Direct and control all aspects of at least 2 to 3 large scale, complex, or significant projects from start to finish.  To ensure it is completed to the standards required within agreed timescale and to the agreed budget level, taking SHEQ requirements into account.  

Principal accountabilities:
• Manage all aspects of at least one significant engineering project from start to finish.
• Development of a detailed Project Plan aligned to overall deliverables and Project life cycle
• Produce project plan to Business Unit Manager
• Prepare monthly report on project(s)performance
• Manage and maintain relationships through regular contact with BUM, Project Accountant, fellow project engineers, Site staff, support units, Customers and Suppliers
• Responsible for all Project related Governance and Compliance Issue.
• Responsible SHEQ compliance.
• Responsible for Project Risks

Key requirements include:
• BSc / B-Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering- Heavy Current 
• 2 Years or above  working experience
• 1 Year or above working experience in Powerline construction industry (Planning, Engineering, Project Management) will be advantageous
• Candidate or Professional Registration with ECSA and SACPCMP  advantageous
• Contracts Management experience (NEC, GCC, JBCC, FIDIC)
• Computer literate on MS Office Package (MS Projects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
• Ability to learn quickly to learn quickly
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Good people and communication skills and an ability to interact with internal and external parties
• Strong planning, organising and administration skills
• Business travel
