SALARY: R70, 000 – R80, 000 per month

“TRS is looking for a dynamic Procurement Executive to be based in Durban, who will be responsible for the Management of a team of Senior and Junior Buyers within the Procurement Department and manage the operational side of business for our FMCG Client, an importer and distributor of fresh and frozen perishables and a represents a portfolio of leading retail industry.”

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• May also be responsible for the management of the operational side of the business, which includes the client’s warehouses, and the company’s supply of products.
• Management of a team of both Senior and Junior Buyers.
• Grow the procurement department both in terms of knowledge and capacity.
• Develop and manage the procurement supply chain.
• Build strategic relationships with suppliers.
• Empower and motivate procurement team.
• Work closely with the sales team.
• Identify opportunities to negotiate improved deals and pricing.
• Identify and Implement cost saving and cost cutting initiatives.
• Review current procurement policies and procedures and make recommendations where appropriate.
• Problem solving and Claim resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Accredited Degree / BTech qualification in Procurement Management.
• Must have 10 years’ experience in managing a procurement team of Senior and Junior buyers.
• Should have experience in FMCG, Building Materials and Perishable Produce.
• Must understand exclusivity, pricing, route to market / value chains, cycle deals, claims process, rebates and settlements.
• Understanding of Exports and shipping.
• Experience in Operations and Logistics would be advantageous.
• Successful track record of procurement at an Executive level.
• Ability to make tough decisions for both the department as well as the company and to operate independently where required.
• Good team player.
• Persistent (not afraid if the answer “NO”).
• Determined and motivated.
• Sense of urgency and adherence to deadlines.
• Solution Driven.
• Creative and Dynamic.
