Job Title: Production & Maintenance Manager (P&M Manager)
Location: Vanderbijlpark
Salary: Market related
Contract/ Perm: Perm
Discipline: Engineering

Minimum Requirements
Education
• Engineering Degree (preferably in mechanical engineering, or electrical)
• Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) (GCC)
• Advanced Management Qualification
• Productivity Certificate or Diploma
• Experience in Lean manufacturing
Experience
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Production / Maintenance environment of a manufacturing entity.
• 4/5 years’ experience in a management capacity.
• Computer Literacy – working with an integrated ERP system (LN preferred) and also working on - MS Office (Word, Excel, PP, MS Project)
• Managing Processes and Process Improvement
• Sound knowledge of MEIBC Main agreement, BCEA and labour relations act.
• Good understanding of the OHS Act.
• Knowledge of Corporate governance principles applicable to the procurement processes.
• Tracking and reducing manufacturing waste using OPEX initiatives.
• Strategic planning
Position Responsibilities
Safety, People Management and Meetings
• Ensure full compliance to all national OHS Act requirements and Greif Occupational Health and Safety regulation and policies.
• GMR2 appointee for the facility.
• Responsible and accountable for complete implementation and maintenance of the “5s” in the
• facility.
• Ensure all internal and External Safety Audit action plans relating to the facility are actioned.
• Manage direct reports according to the basic employment regulations, company policy and prescribed demonstrated HR and operations best practices (absenteeism, safety, production, maintenance and quality procedures, grievances etc).
• Establish developmental plans for all direct reports, train to ensure effective temporary backup personnel and effective succession plans are in place.
• Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings, providing input where necessary.
• Is actively involved on the root cause analysis of incidents.
• Is actively involved in risk assessments as and when required.
