Responsibilities Include:
• Manage the overall activity of production operations during off shifts.
• Meet or exceed efficiency and corporate quality standards by participating in and directing activities of team members in assigned departments.
• Challenge rigorously any non-conformance.
• Ensure the respect of standardized work methods through process confirmation and go, look, see
• Permanent presence on the shop-floor, e.g. to assure appropriate shift handovers, to train/coach EPT Team Leaders, to confirm plan vs. actual at short intervals, to assure adherence to standards, to ensure escalation process is being followed to answer questions or address problems.
• Communicates with support departments. Generates action plans, checks the progress, and escalates recurring problems.
• Communicates with internal customers / other supervisors in the value stream in order to fulfill needs of internal customer.
• Assure appropriate headcount in line with efficiency and on time delivery targets, including maintenance.
• Actively leads or participates in the Quick Problem Solving (QPS) process.
• Ensures problem is solved to root cause.
• Ensure proper usage of the EPT board and check if they are complete, accurate and up-to-date.
• Ensure “high quality” actions are captured and completed in line with plan.
• Set the tone of a healthy dissatisfaction with the status quo to role model and demand continuous improvement of work processes and work environment
• Responsible for safety and enforcement of safety policies for the shift.
• Maintenance of a fair and equitable workplace.
• Responsible for shift productivity, quality and scrap reduction effort.
• Training and coaching personnel on shift, which include Team Leaders and Supervisors.
• Support and promote full SAP systems utilization.
• Development of production schedules based upon committed forecasts, customer commitments and validated load/capacity analysis.
• Provide the direction and leadership to develop and promote a Lean/Sigma continuous improvement culture within the focus factory.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements Include:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combined experience and education
• The ability to work an overnight shift, and 5-10 hours of weekly overtime
• 5+ years of supervisory experience within automotive manufacturing
• 3+ years of experience working for a manufacturing supplier, preferably in an operational role
