Directly responsible for the overall management of the assigned department including all aspects of current operation to assure acceptable safety, housekeeping, quality, productivity, employee conduct and performance criteria are achieved. Directly responsible for the value stream which includes the entire assembly area(s) necessary to sub-assemble, assemble, test. Follows the product through Final Inspection to assure proper tagging have been conducted in a timely manner. The production supervisor is the primary owner for the value stream and is responsible for assembly employees to ensure proper orientation, training, and development. Execute and prioritize production plans in order to meet deadlines. Participate directly in all projects related to his/her area like, process improvement, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accountable for value stream results
Provides daily direction for the value stream.
Staff and schedule departmental personnel to ensure production requirements are met while minimizing costs.
Plan departmental operations by establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
Executes the production plans according to forecast.
Responsible for: developing personnel; improving processes; reducing costs; quality monitoring and improvements; and on-time delivery
Utilizes value stream team members to drive results/corrective action.
Must be an effective communicator and capable of motivating employees to achieve results.
Verify materials (direct and indirect) are available on-hand to meet production schedules.
Tracks KPI’s using White Boards and follows up on any/all continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications:
Minimum three to five years production supervision
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Associates or higher preferred
Supervisor Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of 5 – 20 people
