TRS is seeking a skilled Production Unit Manager to join their client’s team of experienced automotive manufacturing professionals in Spartanburg, SC.
Responsibilities Include:
- 100% responsible for the day to day activities and continual improvement of the production department
- Planning, staffing, training, assessing, and guiding Production Supervisors and their teams
- Drive accountability with 50+ Production Associates in metal fabrication and assembly operations
- Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter/Operation Philosophy and observe the rules, regulation and direction of the Employee Guide established by management
- Advise customer or those situations that may pose a significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, and employee safety or customer satisfaction results.
- Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency is corrected.
- Develop understanding of material flow, bill of materials and raw material particulars and their significance to product quality and continuous commitment to JIT principles of raw materials, WIP and finished product inventories.
- Adhere to all production scheduled to meet customer requirements and manufacturing requirements as outline in the operator instructions
- Approve Business Operation System documentation as applicable
- Meet all production department business plan and KOI objectives
- Provide written action plans for any required corrective action or ongoing improvement initiative
- Ensure the accurate reporting of all production (efficiency, scrap, downtime, FTQ, etc.)
- Strive to continuously improve personal expertise, knowledge, skills; and overall customer satisfaction
- Promote an atmosphere of safety, employee satisfaction and involvement, and teamwork
- Complete purchase requisition approval for all department purchases
- Responsible for planning, staffing, training, assessing and guiding Production Supervisors and their team members.
- Other related duties as required by plant management.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
- 5-7 Years of Automotive manufacturing experience in operational discipline
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience a plus
- Experience with robotic welding or pipe bending operations a plus
- TS16949 Quality Experience a plus
