Job Summary:
Assures timely engineering effort is maintained by coordinating technical requirements between Engineering Disciplines, Project Controls, Client, Vendors, other Engineering offices and Manufacturing facilities. Performs essential Project Engineering responsibilities including specification development, inquiry preparation, technical bid review and verification of compliance to Project requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Review project specifications, P&ID’s, drawings, and data sheets
• Coordinate/expedite issuing and transmitting customer, vendor, engineering, and manufacturing documents. Log and update status of documents issued and returned from customers and vendors.
• Develop project document tree
• Verify drawings, calculations, and specifications against project requirements
• Assist in creating project specifications
• Coordinate information exchange between engineering disciplines, customers, and vendors
• Monitor and document progress of mechanical modeling and related functions (development of structural and mechanical drawing, pipe stress, structural engineering, BOM)
• Manage BOM and coordinate requirements with procurement
• Manage engineered equipment orders with vendors when assigned as Responsible Engineer
• Develop monthly project progress reports
• Coordinate design reviews
• Coordinate distribution of drawings and revisions to manufacturing
• Participate in P&ID Walkdowns
• Resolve technical clarifications and deviations
• Assist with review of technical requirements for proposal efforts
• Assist the Project Manager in all stages of the job from initiation of the contract to job close.
Qualifications Needed:
• Experience related to Cryogenic Gas Processing or the Liquefaction Industry is preferred.
• Excellent project scoping and planning skills.
• Knowledge of project management and project engineering practices and tools.
• Knowledge of engineering automated tools such as CAD systems and Intergraph Smart Plant Enterprise.
• Proficient in the use of computer and software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Working knowledge or familiarization with codes and standards such as ANSI B31.3 piping code, ASME section VIII pressure vessel code, NFPA 59A, and other related codes and standards.
• Self-starter with strong organization skills and ability to work several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and practice efficient time management skills.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Willing and able to travel occasionally as required to meet company and project requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• 2-5 years of hands-on related engineering experience
