Job Title: Quality Manager
Location: Ladson, SC 29456
Reports To: President
Status of Hire: Full-time, direct hire, exempt
Compensation: salaried with benefits

Job Summary:
This position has primary responsibility for implementing the company's QA function and culture. Environment will be very team oriented with emphasis on lean principles and continuous improvement. Quality Manager will report to the President and CEO for quality management system related responsibilities.

Essential Functions:
• Provides progressive leadership and direction to groups of employees
• Implements and maintains quality systems that meet/exceed the customer's requirements including IATF 16949
• Drives a culture where lean principles, 8D's, and continuous improvement are the norm
• Works together with other staff areas to improve operations and eliminate non-value added steps along the value stream
• Area of responsibility extends from supplier quality to the OEM
• Keeps management team informed of progress, developments, and pending problems
• Interprets company policies to workforce and enforces safety regulations
• Supervises, motivates, develops, and evaluates subordinates
• Prepares staff/departmental budgets and spending forecasts
• Complies with state and local regulations related to job function
• Establishes yearly targets and KPI's for department. Maintains regular reporting structure for targets and goals to be tracked and communicated
• Develops goals/objectives and defines metrics to measure performance to the goals

Education/Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Affiliation/certification with ASQ
• 5+ years of experience in an automotive tier I Quality Management position and/or Manufacturing Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in automotive tier I launch and/or project management
• Experience must include IATF 16949 (quality requirements, audits, etc.)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 concepts and experience implementing same
• Knowledge of metrology and standard gauging practices
• Ability and willingness to travel (including international)

**Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer, regardless of authorization or visa transfer
**Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and respirator test/physical to be eligible for hire
