TRS currently seeks an experienced Highway Construction Quality Manager for a direct position with a global EPC company. Based in the Detroit, MI, this person will support the project team on a large infrastructure construction project.

Responsibilities
• Providing on-going Quality System training and support aimed to the implementation of the Quality Management procedures and processes by project personnel
• Assist the Quality Manager to conduct reviews of the quality related elements of the Construction and Design Quality Management Plans to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and achieves mandated quality objectives and targets
• Preparation of quality regular reports and quality reports summaries for the Quality Manager and making any necessary recommendations for improvement
• Assist the Quality Manager in the preparation of the Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP) encompassing all the constructions activities
• Ensure that all Quality records associated with the implementation of the Quality Management System are kept organized and independent on site
• Facilitate audits by the Concessionaire and the clients
• Ensure that an Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) has been developed prior to the start of any construction activity
• Review relevant construction standards, engineering specifications and project documents including the ones mentioned on the ITPs
• Track status of all inspections and tests to inform the Quality Manager and ensure that all non-conforming product, activity or procedure is recorded in the Non Conformity Report (NCR) and in the NCRs register
• Initiate the NCR process when materials, works or processes do not meet the requirements and specifications and inform immediately the Quality Manager
• Establish procedure to ensure that product which is not conforming to specified requirements is not used or installed
• Perform audits on subcontractors, major supplier as per audit plan
• Coordinate, review, and report on the field quality inspections and tests
• Propose Corrective and Preventive Actions to Quality Manager
• Verify in the field that all the testing equipment used by the Laboratory is properly maintained and calibrated
• Ensure that construction teams are using the latest revision of drawings in coordination with the Document Control department.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
• Post-secondary education in Construction Quality Management
• A minimum of five years of Quality Control and Assurance experience
• You have advanced working knowledge of ISO 9001 and Construction Standard Specifications in Ontario
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary, multilingual, and multicultural team, and promote the assets of the group
• Effective relationship building skills which allow you to obtain and analyze information from multiple diverse sources
• Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Keen negotiation skills in matters related to Quality with the ability to get your point across clearly and precisely
