Rules and Compliance Lead

Our client, a leading railway services company with projects all over Canada, is currently recruiting for a Rules and Compliance Lead in Toronto, ON.

In this very exciting role, the qualified candidate will support the Eglinton Crosstown project by ensuring compliance monitoring of field personnel on railway client rules. Some duties include auditing, coaching and training field personnel in track protection activities. This individual will promote continuous improvement in all railway safety and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide advice to field personnel on safety performance and continuous improvement
• Actively perform field safety & compliance audits with personnel that are involved in track protection activities
• Develop and implement a strategic plan to ensure consistent system-wide field documentation in regards to securing track protection, managing work assignments, record keeping, and train clearing
• Assist with investigations into railway rules non-compliance actions and unplanned events

Qualifications:

• Degree in applicable field of study and 2 years of work-related experience
• LEED certification required
• Ability to communication effectively with audiences that include, but are not limited to coworkers, management, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province and federal/national statutes and guidelines
